Jaarlijks worden miljarden dieren het slachtoffer van het speciesistische systeem. Woorden kunnen hun totale angst, pijn, zeer korte leven in de gevangenis en de vreselijke dood niet eens benaderen. Tot hun laatste momenten vragen ze ‘waarom? Waarom overkomt mij dit?’
Geen enkele menselijke oorlog kan zelfs maar vergeleken worden met wat er eindeloos wordt gedaan met onze mededieren.
Vannacht waren we bij slachthuis Ekro (Apeldoorn) als eerbetoon aan hen, om samen met hen in broederschap te staan. Tegelijkertijd stonden honderden activisten voor andere slachthuizen, verdeeld over Europa.
Ook was deze actie bedoeld als opmaat voor activisten naar een meer directe vorm van activisme en mensen te doen bewegen van traditioneel straatactivisme naar de plaatsen waar exploitatie en moord daadwerkelijk plaatsvindt.
Zolang dit onrecht bestaat, zullen wij voor hen blijven vechten, samen met hen. We blijven terugkomen, we stoppen niet totdat elke kooi leeg is.

09-25-24 Night in front of the slaughterhouses: 269 Liberation Animale (Ekro, Apeldoorn)
Billions of animals fall victim to the speciesist system every year. Words cannot even begin to describe their utter fear, pain, very short prison life, and horrible death. Until their last moments they ask 'why? Why is this happening to me?'
No human war can even compare to what is being done endlessly to our fellow animals.
Tonight we were at the Ekro slaughterhouse (Apeldoorn NL) as a tribute to them, to stand in brotherhood with them. At the same time, hundreds of activists stood outside in front of other slaughterhouses across Europe.
This action was also intended as a prelude for activists to a more direct form of activism and to move people from traditional street activism to the places where exploitation and murder actually take place.
As long as this injustice exists, we will continue to fight for them, together with them. We keep coming back, we won't stop until every cage is empty.
